Kirovohrad RMA official suspected of embezzlement

In the Kirovohrad region, the prosecutor's office reported suspicions that the director of the regional department of capital construction had misappropriated budget funds during the renovation of a hospital.
This was told to the media by the spokeswoman for the regional prosecutor's office, Yana Shass.
According to the investigation, in 2024, during the reconstruction of the premises of the regional hospital to install a magnetic resonance imaging scanner, officials, acting in collusion with representatives of the contracting organization, overestimated the cost of equipment and supplies.
The scheme involved the head of the construction department, her deputy, and representatives of a private company that performed construction work. The officials approved and signed financial and economic documents with false information, which became the basis for the transfer of funds.
According to the spokeswoman, the officials were informed of suspicion under Part Four of Article 191 "Seizing someone else's property through abuse of official position, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, on a large scale and under martial law."
The penalty is imprisonment for a term of five to eight years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years. The issue of choosing preventive measures for the suspect is currently being resolved.
We previously reported that the HACC reduced the bail for the head of the Antimonopoly Committee.
It was also previously reported that the lawyer will be tried for promising to deregister for $25,000.
