SAPO Sends MP Anna Skorokhod’s Case to Court

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) has referred the case of People's Deputy Anna Skorokhod to court . She is accused of extorting a bribe to impose NSDC sanctions. This was reported by the NGO Transparency International Ukraine.
Anna Skorokhod's actions were classified under Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - complicity in the form of incitement to provide a particularly grave unlawful benefit.
On July 1, the HACC approved a plea agreement between the SAPO prosecutor and the defendant in the case, who, together with his accomplices, was exposed for inciting a representative of an entrepreneur to give a $250,000 bribe to settle the issue of imposing NSDC sanctions against a competing company.
The court sentenced him to five years in prison, but released him from serving the sentence with a probationary period. The defendant also pledged to transfer 700,000 hryvnias to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the United24 platform.
On December 5, NABU and SSU came to Anna Skorokhod's home, after which they announced suspicion of extortion of a bribe by a group of individuals. According to the investigation, the MP allegedly "organized the activities of a criminal group" that offered the entrepreneur $250,000 to negotiate with the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions on a competing company.
Anna Skorokhod is a figurehead of the EBK base.
