Medical Workers Charged Over Fake Fitness Documents Sent to Court
In Kyiv, the case of doctors who, for 5-8 thousand dollars, issued false documents stating that men were unfit for military service so they could travel abroad has been referred to court, the prosecutor's office reports.
The accused are the director and senior nurse of a municipal polyclinic, a surgeon at one of the medical institutions, the head of the hospital's endocrinology department, and three intermediaries.
In addition, six men subject to military service who purchased documents for themselves will be tried.
Earlier, in the Khmelnytskyi region, the head of the Mariupol MSEC was caught extorting and receiving a bribe for assigning a disability group to a man. The official faces up to ten years in prison for the crime.
In addition, the Zaliznychny District Court of Lviv sentenced oncologist Ihor Bekar for bribery. He took $1,500 for influencing MSEC officials to extend his disability group . The court fined the doctor 68,000 UAH.
