In the Primorsky District Court of Odessa, during a hearing in the case of former military commissar Yevgeny Borisov, the defense requested that the obligation to wear an electronic bracelet be canceled due to the defendant's health. The court denied this motion. In addition, the lawyers filed a motion to disqualify the prosecutor and the judge. The issue of the judge's disqualification will be referred to another panel of the court.

Borisov's lawyers filed a new motion to lift the obligation to wear an electronic monitoring device. The defense argued that the defendant's health had deteriorated and provided additional medical documents that had not previously been considered by the court.

According to them, doctors recorded skin lesions and recommended eliminating contact of the bracelet with the skin for a period of 14 to 28 days.

Borisov himself stated in court that he was undergoing outpatient treatment.

The prosecutor objected to granting the motion. He noted that the risks that led to the use of electronic monitoring remain relevant.

Also, according to him, the defense did not request a change in the way the bracelet was worn, which could partially solve the problem.

The court denied the request to remove the electronic bracelet.

After that, the lawyers challenged the prosecutor, emphasizing his bias and lack of understanding of the norms of criminal procedure. The prosecutor objected and called the statement unfounded.

The court then moved on to consider materials containing information about Borisov's health. At this time, journalists were asked to leave the courtroom.

The defense later challenged the presiding judge. The lawyers believe that the judge is acting biasedly, in particular due to previous decisions regarding the extension of the obligation to wear an electronic bracelet despite the medical documents provided.

In particular, the defense mentioned Borisov's injuries in 2022: according to the lawyers, the former military commissar has injuries to both legs due to gunshots.

The court decided to transfer the motion to disqualify the judge to another judge for consideration through automated distribution. The date of the next hearing will be determined thereafter.
