Court keeps former Ternopil regional council head Golovko in detention
The High Anti-Corruption Court has left in pre-trial detention the former head of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mykhailo Golovko, who was sentenced to 9 years in prison for receiving illegal benefits and illegal storage of ammunition.
As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court found the former head of the Ternopil Regional Council Golovka guilty. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property. The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court left this sentence unchanged and took Golovka into custody. His defense lawyer filed a motion to leave his client in pre-trial detention until the deadline for filing a cassation appeal.
The defense attorney's motion is granted. Temporarily leave the convicted person under Part 1 of Article 263, Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Golovka - ed.) in the state institution "Kyiv Pre-trial Detention Center" until the deadline for filing a cassation appeal, i.e. until October 8, 2026

Earlier, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions of false declarations to the former head of the Ternopil regional council, Golovka. According to the investigation, he did not indicate in his declarations for 2022-2023 an apartment with an area of 201.9 sq. m belonging to his mother, which he used together with family members, non-residential premises (parking space, car wash and storage room) belonging to family members, as well as funds in a bank account.
