The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Medical and Social Expertise (MSEC), who was engaged in corruption schemes related to evasion of mobilization.

According to the media, it is about Vira Belyakova. During the searches, more than 450,000 dollars in cash and a collection of jewelry were found in her possession, which she hid at various addresses. A significant part of these funds and valuables was hidden in the apartment of her son, who is an intern at a medical institution. The son also had a Russian passport obtained from the Russian consulate in Odesa before the start of the full-scale invasion.

The investigation established that in 2015-2023, the head of the center declared an official income of about 2 million hryvnias. To hide her illegal income, she registered three undeclared apartments for her son.

It was also found out that in 2023, the official issued a second group of disability for herself and her son in order to receive additional benefits and social payments from the state.

Currently, the issue of notifying the official about suspicion and selecting a preventive measure is being resolved.

We will remind you that yesterday President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a decree, the decision of which provides for the liquidation of all medical and social expert commissions (MSEK) and the prosecution of officials suspected of corruption schemes. The liquidation of MSEK will begin on December 31, 2024 after the adoption of the relevant draft law.

It all started with a corruption scandal involving the head of Khmelnytskyi MSEK Tetyana Krupa. She was exposed in a corruption scheme , helping 50 prosecutors and their relatives to register their disability. 6 million dollars in cash were found in her apartment.
