HACC Extends Duties for Deputy Shvydkyi image

The High Anti-Corruption Court has extended the term of office of Oleh Shvydky, a deputy of the Borshchahiv village council of Buchansky district of Kyiv region, until July 28. NABU and SAPO suspect him in the case of the seizure of over 1,200 hectares of land in Pushcha-Vodytsa and Fastiv in Kyiv region. As is known, the anti-corruption court released deputy Shvydky on a personal commitment. He is obliged to: arrive at the first summons; not leave Ukraine without permission; report any change in his place of residence and work; refrain from communicating with suspects in these criminal proceedings and witnesses, and also hand over his foreign passports for safekeeping.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office once again requested to extend these duties for another two months.

The motion to extend the term of the duties assigned to the suspect (Shvydky – ed.) is granted. The suspect's term of duties is extended for two months – until July 28, 2025 (but within the pre-trial investigation period).

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO have reported suspicions to five individuals, including former head of the State Reserve Dmytro Babak. According to the investigation, in 2018-2019, these individuals seized almost 920 hectares of state land in Fastiv, Kyiv region, and about 284 hectares of the Puscha-Vodytsia state enterprise near Kyiv.
