HACC to hear asset seizure case against border officer

The High Anti-Corruption Court has scheduled a hearing for May 25 on the lawsuit of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office regarding the confiscation of the assets of Oleksandr Marushchak, the former head of the Solomonovo Border Service Department of the Chop Border Detachment of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
As is known, the SAPO is requesting to confiscate the property of the former head of the "Solomonovo" department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Marushchak. These are assets purchased in 2022–2023: a townhouse with a land plot located in the suburbs of Uzhhorod; a Toyota Rav-4 HYBRID car. An analysis of official income and expenses revealed that neither the border guard's relatives nor he himself would have had enough legal income to purchase such assets.
To accept for consideration the statement of claim of the SAPO prosecutor against (Kotyk Nadiya Ivanovna, Marushchak Oleksandr Serhiyovych) on the recognition of assets as unfounded and their recovery into state revenue and to open proceedings in the case. To schedule a preparatory court hearing for May 25, 2026 at 10:00 in the courtroom of the High Court of Justice of Ukraine
Also on March 30, the court extended the obligations of the former head of the Solomonovo border service department, Oleksandr Marushchak. He was assigned the following obligations: to arrive at the first request; not to leave the territory of Ukraine without permission; to report any change in his place of residence and work; to refrain from communicating with the suspects in this criminal proceeding and witnesses; and to hand over his international passports for safekeeping.
