SAPO seeks asset confiscation of border guard

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office is requesting the confiscation of a house with a land plot in the Transcarpathian region and a Toyota Rav-4 HYBRID car belonging to the head of one of the departments of the State Border Guard Service.
This was reported by the SAPO press service. According to media reports, this concerns Oleksandr Marushchak, head of the Solomonovo border service department of the Chop border detachment of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Service of Ukraine. He is being tried for providing illegal benefits. SAPO is requesting the confiscation of a house with a land plot in the suburbs of Uzhhorod and a car. The real estate was seized at the request of the prosecutor.
The SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to declare unfounded and recover assets acquired by the person while serving as the head of one of the departments of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. These are assets acquired in 2022–2023: a townhouse with a land plot located in Transcarpathia; a Toyota Rav-4 HYBRID car. An analysis of official income and expenses revealed that neither the border guard's relatives nor he himself would have had enough legal income to purchase such assets.
Let us remind you that Oleksandr Marushchak is a person involved in the EBK base.
We previously wrote that the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court will consider a complaint against a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 2 million with the assignment of duties, applied to the head of the Solomonovo Border Service Department of the State Border Service, Oleksandr Marushchak.
