HACC Forfeits Part of Bail Posted for Former Border Guard Chief
The High Anti-Corruption Court has recovered from the budget part of the bail paid for the former head of the State Border Service, Petro Tsyhykal, in criminal proceedings for embezzlement of UAH 10.68 million and receiving unlawful benefits.
As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court set bail in the amount of UAH 2.11 million for the former head of the State Border Service, Petro Tsyhykal. The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requested that the bail be collected from the state budget due to breach of duty.
The prosecutor's motion is to be partially granted. To return to the state revenue a part of the bail in the amount of UAH 108,850, paid as a preventive measure for the accused (Tsigikanal) on the basis of the resolution of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated November 9, 2022. To apply a preventive measure to the accused in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 2,250,000. To impose on the accused the obligation provided for in Article 194 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, namely to appear in court upon each demand. The term of validity of the resolution in terms of the imposed obligations is until November 2, 2026

Previously, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office also appealed the verdict, which found lawyer Ruslan Fedyniak guilty of abuse of influence and fined him UAH 93,500.
