The High Anti-Corruption Court postponed until January 27 the hearing on the case against the former head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region, Dmytro Golovin, and two other individuals for possessing counterfeit cigarettes worth over UAH 13 million. The reason was the failure of a witness to appear.

Previously, the anti-corruption court found the failure to appear of one of the witnesses in the case to be disrespectful and ordered his summons. However, the witness failed to appear again.

Postpone the court session until 14:00 on January 27, 2025. The reasons for the witness's failure to appear at the court session shall be deemed disrespectful. Summon the witness to the court session to the High Court of Criminal Procedure for direct participation in the court session or to another court of the Odessa region, territorially close to her place of residence, for participation in the court session via video conference, provided that the witness submits an application in advance for the proper organization of the court session via video conference. The execution of the summons shall be entrusted to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine

– the decision states.

As a reminder, in August 2021, NABU and SAPO referred Golovin's case to court. According to the prosecution, in 2018, the heads of private companies, in collusion with former heads of the National Police of the Odessa Region, illegally seized a large batch of counterfeit tobacco products, which had the status of physical evidence in criminal proceedings investigated by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police of the Odessa Region. After that, they released it into illegal circulation. This is a batch of seven sea containers, the value of which, according to the results of the examination, exceeds UAH 13 million.

Earlier it became known that a district council deputy was detained in the Lviv region for taking a bribe.

We also wrote that in Mykolaiv, the court continued the case against the head of the college.
