HACC rejects request for in absentia probe against Shurma

The High Anti-Corruption Court did not grant permission to conduct an in absentia investigation into the former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Rostyslav Shurma, his brother Oleh, and the former commercial director of PJSC Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo Viktor Mitchenko in the case of the embezzlement of UAH 141 million on the "green" tariff.
As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court arrested Shurma, his brother Oleg, and former Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo employee Mitchenko in absentia. Later, a detective from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requested permission to conduct an in absentia investigation into these three individuals.
To deny the request
The SAPO prosecutor filed an appeal against this decision.
Rostislav Shurma is a suspect in the EBK database.
Earlier it became known that the High Anti-Corruption Court extended until August 21 the investigation into the case of the embezzlement of UAH 141 million on the "green" tariff, in which the former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Rostyslav Shurma, was suspected.
