HACC closes case against ex-prosecutor official

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has released the former head of the Kirovohrad Oblast Prosecutor's Office, Svetlana Klyukina, from criminal liability due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. Her case has been closed.
As is known, according to the prosecution, in 2016, the head of the procedural management department of the Kirovohrad region prosecutor's office, Svetlana Klyukina, with prior consent from an individual, Serhiy Levin, demanded and received an illegal benefit in the amount of $6,800 for withdrawing an appeal in a criminal case. In addition, detectives established the fact of forgery and theft of official documents. However, the 10-year time limit for bringing Klyukina to justice has already expired in the case.
To release the accused (Klyukina) from criminal liability for committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 3 of Article 368, Part 2 of Article 357 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, on the basis of Article 49 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in connection with the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing to criminal liability. Criminal proceedings in relation to the accusation of (Klyukina) for committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 3 of Article 368, Part 2 of Article 357 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in connection with the release of the accused from criminal liability - to be closed on the basis of Clause 1 of Part 2 of Article 284 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine
Svetlana Klyukina is a figurehead of the EBK base.
Earlier, the HACC also closed part of the criminal proceedings against the former head of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mykhailo Holovko, for making false declarations.
