Supreme Court to Review Buksanchuk’s Appeal on September 4

The Supreme Court is ready to consider an appeal against the verdict sentencing the former general director of the state specialized enterprise "Radon Association" Ihor Buksanchuk to 5 years in prison for bribing the former head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management Kateryna Pavlova.
As is known, the HACC found guilty and sentenced the former director of the state-owned Radon Association, Buksanchuk, to 5 years in prison with confiscation of property. This decision was confirmed by the Appeals Chamber of the HACC However, the Supreme Court returned the case for a second appeal. However, the AC HACC did not see any grounds for changing the sentence.
To complete the preparation and schedule for September 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. the cassation hearing of the criminal proceedings on the cassation appeal of the defense attorney in the interests of the convicted person (Buksanchuk - ed.) against the verdict of the HACC dated June 1, 2022 and the resolution of the AC HACC dated March 17, 2025. As a reminder, as the court established, on February 27, 2020, Buksanchuk sent Pavlova a letter asking her to agree to pay him a bonus for the 4th quarter of 2019. On March 4, he also sent her a letter asking her to agree to pay him an annual bonus in accordance with the contract. Already on March 5, in the office of the interim head of the State Agency for the Protection of the Environment, the CEO of Radon made her a proposal to provide an illegal benefit for awarding him bonuses. At the same time, he noted that the amount of the illegal benefit directly depends on the amount of bonuses accrued to him and will be 50% of them. On April 8, 2020, Buksanchuk transferred UAH 210,000 to Pavlova in exchange for agreeing to award him annual and quarterly bonuses of over UAH 430,000. After which he was exposed.
