Court Extends Detention of Armed Forces Psychiatrist Druz

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv extended the preventive measure of detention for the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleh Druz, until July 21. He also has the option to post bail of 49 million hryvnias.
The defendant joined the court hearing via video link of his own free will.
Prosecutors requested an extension of the preventive measure in the form of detention.
The defense filed a motion for a preventive measure in the form of house arrest and 908,400 UAH bail, justifying this by the fact that Druz earns about 1 million a year.
The suspect, as proof that he will not leave the territory of Ukraine, noted that he has about 750 relatives and that he has obligations not only to his homeland, but also to his family.

As a reminder, on January 21, 2025, it became known that the SBU detained the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleg Druz, who is the deputy chairman of the Central Military Medical Commission (CMC) and decides on the suitability of military personnel for service.
He is suspected of corruption. According to the investigation, after 2022, Druzy's family acquired unfounded assets worth more than $1 million (more than 49 million hryvnias). These include, in particular, four BMW X series cars, two land plots in the Kyiv region, two apartments in Kyiv and Odessa region with a total area of over 120 sq. meters.
