The Supreme Court upheld the verdict sentencing former Deputy Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories Yuriy Hrymchak to 10 years in prison.
This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
On April 29, 2025, the Cassation Criminal Court of the Supreme Court ruled to leave unchanged the verdict of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine dated February 23, 2022 and the ruling of the Appeals Chamber of the HACC of Ukraine dated December 19, 2023, by which the former Deputy Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories Yuriy Hrymchak was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 4 of Article 190; Part 4 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 3 of Article 369; Part 4 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The Supreme Court agreed with the arguments of the SAPO prosecutor, rejected the cassation appeal of the defense and confirmed the legality of the court decisions.

As a reminder, the High Anti-Corruption Court found Hrymchak guilty and sentenced him to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court left the sentence unchanged.
As the court found, Hrymchak promised to resolve two issues for money to a representative of a private company. His intermediary was an assistant, the brother of Hrymchak's wife, Ihor Ovdienko. Thus, during a conversation with the said representative, Hrymchak learned that he was trying to resolve one issue in court, namely the collection of a debt from another company. The former deputy minister allegedly promised to resolve this issue for $100,000, contacting the former deputy prosecutor general so that he could influence the head of the Civil Court of Cassation, who in turn would influence the judges of this court. We previously reported that the SAPO referred the case of the former head of the Cherkasy region court to court.
