Supreme Court to Hear Appeal in Ex-Kyiv Official’s Case

The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing on September 10 on an appeal against the verdict sentencing the former head of the Children and Family Service of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Serhiy Andriyash, to 3 years in prison for abuse.
This decision was made by the Criminal Court of Cassation, reports Slovo i Dilo.
As is known, in December 2024, the court of first instance acquitted Serhiy Andriyash due to the absence of elements of a criminal offense in his actions. The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court found Andriyash guilty and sentenced him to 3 years in prison.
To complete the preparatory actions and schedule the cassation review of the criminal proceedings on the lawyer's complaint against the verdict of the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court of June 29, 2026 regarding (Andriyash - ed.) for 11:30 a.m. on September 10, 2026
Recall, the SAPO accuses Andriyash of abuse of office. According to the prosecution, Andriyash, instead of directing grant funds from the EU to equip social housing for internally displaced persons, directed them to the modernization of private real estate. We are talking about 10 million hryvnias of grant funds, which were spent on major repairs of a non-residential building in the village of Karapysh, Myroniv district, Kyiv region, which belonged to Agrosvit LLC, for the further implementation of entrepreneurial activities on the basis of this company.
The prosecution indicated that after the renovation, the specified premises did not pass into municipal or state ownership. A children's health and recreation facility for children "Zoryany" was placed in part of the building, and Andriyash's former subordinate - Ruslan Poshtov - was appointed as the director and founder. Andriyash's relatives were also employed in this facility, namely: his son, daughter and son-in-law.
During the investigation, the property was returned to municipal/state ownership. However, Andriyash himself did not admit his guilt in the crime he was accused of and indicated that he had not committed any criminal offense.
