Supreme Court to Review Smirnov and Polishko’s Appeals

The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing on December 2 on the appeal of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office against the acquittal of the relative of former Poltava Regional Council deputy from the Servant of the People party, Oleksandr Smirnov. The convicted ex-deputy himself filed a cassation appeal for 5 years in prison.
As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court found Smirnov guilty and sentenced him to 5 years in prison. At the same time, his cousin Tatyana Polishko was acquitted due to lack of evidence of a criminal offense. Later, the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court left this verdict unchanged. The SAPO prosecutor filed a cassation appeal against Polishko's acquittal, and Smirnov himself appealed the conviction.
To complete the preparation and schedule the criminal proceedings on the cassation appeal of the defense lawyer of the convicted person (Smirnov) against the verdict of the HACC of June 4, 2024 and the decision of the AC of the HACC of March 18, 2025 regarding (Smirnov - ed.) and the cassation appeal of the prosecutor in the criminal proceedings against the decision of the AC of the HACC of March 18, 2025 regarding (Smirnov and Polishko) for consideration in cassation by the Supreme Court by the panel of judges of the Second Judicial Chamber of the Criminal Court of Cassation at 11:00 on December 2, 2025
