Borisov’s Defense Denies Bail Payment

In his Telegram channel, journalist Yevhen Plinsky reported that bail of 44 million hryvnias was posted for former military commissar Yevhen Borisov. In his post, he attached a photo of a certificate from the Territorial Department of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine in Kyiv.

A source from Suspilny reported that bail was posted today for the former head of the Odessa CCC Borisov. This is also confirmed by RBC-Ukraine sources. However, Borisov's defense denied this information:

No one posted bail. He is still in pre-trial detention. There is no such money.

According to him, the case under Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has already been sent for consideration to the Primorsky District Court. The last extension of the preventive measure took place after September 20. The defense lawyer clarified that under another article, the court reduced the amount of bail by UAH 1 million, and now it is UAH 44.6 million.

The lawyer also emphasized that posting bail without the defense's knowledge is impossible:

The escort function is performed by one of the defenders or a group of defenders.

Yevgeny Borisov is a figure in the EBK database.

As a reminder, SBI officers detained the former employee in Kyiv on December 25. The bureau had information that after leaving the pre-trial detention center, he planned to hide from the investigation, in particular, to go abroad.

He was informed of the suspicion of committing new criminal offenses provided for in Part 3 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 114-1 (organization of obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period), Part 3 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 366 (organization of the preparation and issuance by an official of a knowingly false official document) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
