Woman suspected of bribe to influence MSEC disability ruling

Bukovinka is suspected of registering a disability for a conscript to evade mobilization. She allegedly promised the man $12,000 to influence the decision of the Military Service Commission and register him as disabled.

According to the prosecutor's office, the woman assured the 42-year-old man that she had connections in the inter-district general-profile MSEK and would be able to help him with disability registration. However, she failed to do this - she informed him that the issuance of certificates and disability status for men had been suspended. Instead, she offered to register his wife's disability for a smaller amount.

Law enforcement officers recorded that the woman received part of the bribe - $2,000. She was informed of suspicion of bribery. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of 34,000 to 93,500 hryvnias or two to five years in prison.

On April 16, police reported that the former head of the inter-district MSEC in the region is suspected of receiving a bribe. He allegedly promised a man 7,000 euros to influence the decision of expert teams to assign a disability group.

Previously, on April 15, suspicions were reported to a deputy of one of the regional city councils, who is a member of the expert commission for determining incapacity for work. The woman had probably promised, in exchange for money, to help men subject to military service obtain a deferment from service or be removed from military registration.
