In Transcarpathia, the head of the logistics service of one of the military units was exposed, who promised to help another serviceman in transferring to a logistics position in exchange for a bribe.

This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.

At the beginning of the year, the commander of one of the unit's combat units asked the official to help transfer him to the position of assistant chief of the material service, temporarily performing his duties.

As noted by the SBI, this position is not related to constant participation in combat operations and requires more time in the rear. The chief informed the applicant that he would go to meet him and help him, but "for only" 10 thousand dollars.

Having received the agreed amount, the employee supported the request to the higher command to assign a serviceman from a combat unit to a rear position. After that, he was detained by law enforcement officers, and the money was confiscated.

The sanction of the incriminated article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with confiscation of property.

The military commander was remanded in custody with the possibility of posting bail of 424,000 hryvnias.

Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicions to the head of the logistics service of a military unit in Kyiv, who, together with accomplices, stole 5,000 liters of fuel worth 300,000 UAH.

Also, NABU and SAPO exposed a corruption scheme in the defense sector , due to which the state lost 246 million hryvnias.
