The State Bureau of Investigation reported the suspicion to the head of the logistics service of the military unit in Kyiv, who, together with accomplices, stole 5,000 liters of fuel worth 300,000 UAH.

It is noted that the chief and his accomplices entered inflated cost figures into the waybills, thereby creating fuel surpluses. This fuel was stored in a special garage located next to the military unit and was occasionally sold to trusted buyers.

According to this scheme, 3 thousand liters of diesel fuel and 2 thousand liters of gasoline were stolen from the military unit from September 2024 to March 2025. The total amount of damage caused to the state exceeds at least 300 thousand hryvnias.

The head of the logistics service was informed of suspicion of theft of military property by a group of persons in advance of the conspiracy, committed under martial law (Part 4 of Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years. The suspect has already been chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to post bail in the amount of 600 thousand hryvnias.

Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation exposed five criminals who were stealing diesel fuel from a military unit in the Rivne region. Over the course of three months, the suspects managed to steal more than 100 tons of fuel worth UAH 1.2 million.

Also, NABU and SAPO exposed a corruption scheme in the defense sector , due to which the state lost 246 million hryvnias.
