HACC Appeals Upholds Odarchenko’s Sentence image

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the verdict sentencing MP Andriy Odarchenko, who fled to Romania, to 8 years in absentia.

The appeals shall be dismissed, and the verdict of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of 11/14/2024 shall be left unchanged.

As is known, the anti-corruption court found Odarchenko guilty of providing illegal benefits. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison with confiscation of all property owned by him and a ban on holding a number of positions for 3 years.

The defendant's defense attorneys and the SAPO prosecutor filed appeals against the verdict.

Let us remind you that Andriy Odarchenko is a person involved in the EBK base.

Last year, the SAPO prosecutor stated that, according to operational information, Odarchenko had fled abroad. Because of this, he was put on the national and international wanted list .

Later it turned out that the People's Deputy illegally crossed the border near the settlement of Krasnoilsk, Chernivtsi region and asked for asylum in Romania.

The HACC also arrested People's Deputy Odarchenko in absentia and confiscated his bail.
