HACC Appeals Chamber to review MP Marchenko verdict image

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court is ready to consider an appeal against the verdict sentencing People's Deputy from the Servant of the People faction Lyudmila Marchenko and her assistant Anastasia Kolesnyk to 2 years in prison.

As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court found Marchenko and Kolesnyk guilty . They were sentenced to 2 years in prison with a ban on holding certain positions for 3 years after serving the main sentence. The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requested that both defendants be sentenced to 5 years in prison. Later, the accused Marchenko, her lawyers, and the SAPO prosecutor filed appeals against this verdict.

To complete preparations for the appeal hearing. The consideration of the appeals filed against the verdict of the High Anti-Corruption Court of March 19, 2026, in an open court session shall be scheduled in the premises of the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court for June 2, 2026 at 09:00

Lyudmila Marchenko is a figurehead of the EBK base.

As a reminder, the SAPO has referred the case of People's Deputy Lyudmila Marchenko to court. According to the prosecution, the deputy, together with her assistant Anastasia Kolesnyk, promised the citizen, in exchange for a monetary reward, to obtain a permit to travel outside Ukraine, as well as to enter relevant information into the Shlyakh information system.

Subsequently, the co-participants organized the sending of an appeal from the charitable organization to one of the district military administrations, on the basis of which the RMA made a decision to grant permission to the specified citizen to travel as a volunteer across the state border of Ukraine for the purpose of transporting humanitarian cargo to the territory of Ukraine.

After receiving permission, the deputy's assistant met with the citizen and received the second part of the agreed funds from him - $2,800. In total, the receipt of $5,300 was documented.
