HACC Appeals Chamber upholds acquittal of ex-MP Dolzhenkov

The Appals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court left unchanged the verdict that acquitted former MP Oleksandr Dolzhenkov of charges of misappropriating 700,000 hryvnias in compensation for renting housing in Kyiv.
This decision was made by the AC HACC, the court's press service reports, but does not specify the politician's name. According to media reports, it is about Dolzhenkov. Earlier, the anti-corruption court found ex-People's Deputy Dolzhenkov innocent and acquitted him due to the absence of elements of a criminal offense in his actions. The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the defendant's defense attorney filed appeals against this decision.
On March 9, 2026, the AC of the HACC completed the consideration of the appeals of the defense and prosecution against the verdict of the HACC dated February 28, 2025, by which the People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the VIII convocation was found not guilty of appropriation of someone else's property in especially large amounts, by abuse of official position (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court of first instance acquitted the former People's Deputy due to the absence of elements of a criminal offense in his actions. Based on the results of the consideration, the panel of judges left the appeals of the parties unsatisfied, and the verdict of the HACC unchanged
