As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported in absentia on suspicion of former People's Deputy Heorhiy Logvinsky in embezzling UAH 54 million from the state budget. Prior to this, the authorities suspected six more people in this case

The investigation established that during 2013-2016, the suspects organized a scheme using the mechanism of applying to the European Court of Human Rights: they misled the European institution by not informing it of all the circumstances of the disputed legal relationship.

According to the investigation, to support the case in the ECHR, the former People's Deputy agreed with the leadership of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, with whose assistance the Government Commissioner for the ECHR prepared a declaration on the friendly settlement of the dispute, on the basis of which he undertook to pay UAH 54.179 million from the state budget of Ukraine to the People's Deputy's controlled company "Golden Mandarin Oil" for obligations that arose between two private legal entities. In February 2016, the Ministry of Justice transferred the specified amount of funds.
