Obligations extended for accused regional council deputy image

The High Anti-Corruption Court has extended the term of office of Zaporizhzhia Regional Council deputy Vyacheslav Kolesnikov until July 20. The SAPO accuses him of providing more than UAH 650,000 in illegal benefits to the director of the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.

As is known, the court arrested Kolesnikov with the alternative of 1 million UAH bail. This money was paid for him and he was released from the pre-trial detention center under the following obligations: to report a change in his place of residence and/or place of work; to refrain from communicating with other suspects in this criminal proceeding and witnesses, and to hand over his foreign passports for safekeeping.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office again requested to extend the procedural obligations for another two months. The court supported the prosecutor's request.

To extend the term of the duties assigned to the accused (Kolesnikov – ed.). The term of the resolution shall be set until July 20, 2025 inclusive.

NABU and SAPO exposed the deputy head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council, Vladyslav Kutsenko, and two other individuals in an attempt to bribe the director of a healthcare facility.

According to the investigation, during 2023-2024, the suspects repeatedly provided one of the directors of the regional hospital with funds so that he would contribute to the victory of pre-determined companies in tenders announced by the medical institution, as well as to the opening of an account in a certain bank by the medical institution and the placement of funds in it. On February 19, the individuals were caught red-handed immediately after they provided another portion of the illegal benefit. The total amount of the illegal benefit reaches over 650 thousand UAH.

We also reported that the suspected prosecutor from Zaporizhzhia had mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
