Ex-hospital accountant in Rivne suspected of embezzlement
Police suspect a former accountant of a medical facility in Rivne of causing losses of over UAH 12 million. According to the investigation, she overstated the salaries of 32 employees. This was reported on Wednesday, March 4, by the press services of the police and the regional prosecutor's office.
According to law enforcement officials, from January 2022 to August 2024, the then chief accountant of the municipal enterprise entered false data into the staff lists with inflated salaries for 32 employees. By doing so, she caused the employer losses of UAH 12.3 million. More than UAH 2 million of this amount is unjustifiably paid single social contribution.
The 66-year-old woman has already been dismissed from her position. At the request of the investigator, her property was seized.
She was informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official forgery) and Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (seizure of someone else's property through abuse of official position on an especially large scale). The sanction of the article provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
