Former Burevisnyk defense plant director faces new corruption charges

The former head of the state-owned defense plant "Burevisnyk" and his subordinates are suspected of dismantling the company's equipment and selling it for scrap metal. The ex-director also hid property worth over 24 million hryvnias in his declarations.
This was announced by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
According to sources of Suspilny, this concerns the state-owned Burevisnyk plant, and among the suspects is the former general director of the enterprise, Oleksandr Plotnikov.
According to the investigation, while the company was in the process of privatization, its manager, together with three employees, organized a scheme to dismantle the equipment. The plant's property was dismantled, cut into metal, and sold for scrap.
Law enforcement officers documented telephone conversations in which the participants in the scheme coordinated the arrival of buyers, the preparation of the metal, and its removal. The losses to the state-owned enterprise are estimated at millions of hryvnias.
This is not the first episode in the case. Previously, the former manager and chief engineer were already reported on suspicion of receiving a bribe for the transfer of warehouse space to a state-owned enterprise without official lease agreements.
Now the former owner has also been informed of suspicion of entering false information into the declarations for 2024 and 2025. According to the investigation, he actually used a BMW M8, Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, Lamborghini Murciélago and other expensive cars, but registered them in the names of relatives or related persons and did not declare them.
One of the most revealing episodes concerns the Audi RS7. According to the prosecutor's office, the car was purchased for 4 million UAH, and on the same day it was re-registered to the suspect's mother, indicating in the documents its value as only 100 thousand UAH. Six months later, the car was resold for 4.2 million UAH, but it never appeared in the declaration for 2024.
According to the investigation, the amount of inaccurate information in the declaration for 2024 is UAH 11.5 million, and for 2025 - almost UAH 13 million.
We will remind, the director of a road company in Mykolaiv is suspected of embezzlement of budget funds.
