Kam’yans’ke Doctor Suspected of Bribery

A neurologist from Kamiansky, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, is suspected of bribery. According to investigators, she demanded money for help in determining disability group II for a 59-year-old man.

This is stated on the website of the regional police.

As law enforcement officers established, the woman organized the patient's hospitalization to another medical facility, where his diagnosis was artificially "worsened." After preparing the necessary documents, the doctor received the agreed-upon "reward" of $3,000 in her office.

She was charged under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receiving an unlawful benefit by an official). The woman faces five to ten years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.
