A doctor who took a bribe and promised to influence a decision on disability will be tried in the Rivne region. According to law enforcement, the orthopedic traumatologist received a bribe from a patient, for which he promised to influence experts to recognize her as a person with a disability.

This was reported by Oksana Zhuzhelska, a spokeswoman for the regional prosecutor's office.

According to her information, a 41-year-old orthopedic traumatologist received a bribe from a patient. For 2,000 US dollars, the man promised to influence doctors to recognize the woman as a person with a disability.

For two years, the doctor provided discharges for the patient's treatment in a hospital and helped in collecting and processing all the necessary documents for the subsequent receipt of a disability group. This year, in February, he referred the woman to a specialized institution, where an expert team works to assess the daily functioning of the person, whose members the doctor was supposed to influence.
