Kropyvnytskyi man sentenced in TCP influence scheme

A local resident was tried in Kropyvnytskyi for receiving an illegal benefit for influencing the decisions of employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCP) and doctors conducting military medical commissions (MMC). The case was considered in the Fortechny District Court of the city. The verdict was published on May 15.
This is stated in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions. According to the investigation, the accused, in collusion with other people, offered military conscripts assistance in evading mobilization by registering fictitious treatment and creating artificial diagnoses, which were required for documents on unfitness for service.
In November 2025, the accused, in a conversation with a local resident, learned that he had been served with a summons and said that they could help the conscript.
The case materials noted that on December 1, 2025, the accused met with a resident of Kropyvnytskyi and informed him that for ten thousand dollars, he and the people with whom he acted in collusion could influence the employees of the TCP and the doctors who conduct MMC.
On December 12, 2025, during a personal meeting with a conscript, the accused received from him a part of the previously agreed upon amount of illicit gain in the amount of $2,500, which he later transferred to people with whom he was in collusion.
According to the case materials, the accused then demanded additional money from the man and threatened the victim.
On December 22, 2025, during a meeting with a conscript, the accused demanded $3,500 from him. He also said that if the man did not give him the money, he would demand it from his parents. After that, the accused took out a folding knife and threatened the man.
According to the text of the verdict, on January 5, 2026, the accused received $7,500 from the man. After which he was detained by law enforcement officers.
On May 6, 2026, the accused, with the participation of his lawyer and the prosecutor, entered into a plea agreement. According to it, he fully admitted his guilt and agreed to cooperate with the investigation, in particular, provided testimony regarding other participants in the schemes and reported three more facts of illegal registration of unfitness for military service.
The court found these circumstances and the transfer of money by the accused to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the amount of 250 thousand hryvnias as mitigating his punishment. The court found the commission of a crime by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy to be an aggravating circumstance. The accused was tried under Part 2 of Article 28 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (CCU) and Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the CCU (Abuse of influence). He was sentenced to three years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. At the same time, the court agreed on the possibility of exemption from serving the sentence with a probationary period of three years. He must appear for registration with the probation authority, report any change of place of residence, work or study.
The defendant may appeal the verdict within 30 days.
