MP Bondar Arrested for Failure to Pay Bail

The HIgh Anti-Corruption Court took MP Viktor Bondar into custody because he failed to pay UAH 100 million in bail, which was set for him as a preventive measure in the case of misappropriation of funds from JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.

This was reported by the press service of the SAPO, without mentioning the politician's name. According to media reports, this is Bondar, who did not comply with the decision of the HIgh Anti-Corruption Court to apply a preventive measure to him in the form of a bail of UAH 100 million.

Given that the suspect did not pay the UAH 100 million bail set by the court, the prosecution filed a motion with the court to change the preventive measure from bail to detention with the alternative of paying bail. After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court partially granted the motion and applied a preventive measure to the suspect in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with the alternative of paying UAH 100 million bail. In compliance with the court decision, the suspect was taken into custody in the courtroom

Earlier it became known that the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court left unchanged the preventive measure in the form of a bail of 100 million UAH and the imposition of duties, applied to People's Deputy Viktor Bondar.
