Oleksandr Klymenko, head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), stated that during the 15-month documentation of the case of corruption in the energy sector, law enforcement officers recorded numerous leaks of information in various directions.

He stated this during a meeting of the temporary investigative commission on economic security in the Verkhovna Rada. According to Klymenko, these facts were registered, but active investigative actions were not carried out at the time, so as not to harm the operation.

During the 15 months of documentation, we saw leaks in different directions. We registered them in parallel, but did not conduct active investigations so as not to harm the operation. There were several such leaks. Currently, they are actively investigated in more than one, or even two criminal proceedings under these articles

– said the head of the SAPO.

As noted, in parallel, internal investigations have also begun at the SAPO. Klymenko also noted that, according to the agency, those involved in the investigation discussed among themselves that they could be monitored.

According to our information, individual law enforcement officers may be involved in assisting this criminal organization.

– said the head of the SAPO.

At the same time, regarding other law enforcement agencies, Klymenko stated his willingness to exchange information with them and provide materials that are in the process.

So that they can conduct appropriate investigations to establish the involvement of their employees in this scheme or any exchange of information with back office representatives

– he concluded.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO conducted searches at the home of President Zelensky's former business partner and co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio, Timur Mindich, as well as at the home of Justice Minister German Galushchenko, who previously headed the Ministry of Energy.

The criminal organization built a scheme for systematically obtaining illegal benefits from counterparties of JSC NNEGC Energoatom in the amount of 10% to 15% of the value of contracts. The scheme involved, in particular, the former deputy head of the State Property Fund, who later became an advisor to the Minister of Energy, as well as a former law enforcement officer. In addition, NABU announced suspicion against former Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshov.

In turn, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had not spoken to his former business partner, co-owner of Kvartal-95, Timur Mindich, since the announcement of the investigation into the corruption case of embezzlement at Energoatom.
