SAPO plans to send ex-energy deputy minister case to court in April image

After March 31, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office will refer to court criminal proceedings on suspicion of abuse of power by former People's Deputy Volodymyr Vecherko, Advisor to the Minister of Energy Maksym Nemchynov, and former General Director of the state-owned enterprise Ukrvuhilya Vitaliy Zyusko.

It was until this date that the decision of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court limited the time for the defense to review the investigation materials.

The motion is partially granted. To establish for the defense party, namely: the suspects (Vecherka, Nemchynova, Zyuska) and their defense attorneys, as well as other lawyers who may be involved as defense attorneys for the suspects, in the event that they provide the prosecution with documents stipulated in Part 1 of Article 50 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, a period of time for familiarization with the materials of the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings until March 31, 2026 inclusive, after which the defense party will be considered to have exercised its right to access the materials of the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings

Let us remind you that Volodymyr Vecherko and Maksym Nemchynov are suspects in the EBK base.

Previously, NABU and SAPO completed investigating the case on suspicion of former MP Volodymyr Vecherko and former Deputy Minister of Energy Maksym Nemchynov in co-organizing abuses that led to over UAH 12 million in losses.
