Deputy of Kyiv mayor faces trial over Nyvky park case

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment to the court against the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration on charges of abuse of office, which led to the illegal transfer of part of the Nyvky Park for development.
This was reported by the press service of the SAPO.
According to media reports, this concerns Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Olenych and former director of the Ukrainian Mark company Vitaliy Artsimovich.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that in November 2019, while serving as the director of the Department of Land Resources of the Kyiv City State Administration, the person received a land management project for consideration, according to which the eastern part of the park was to be excluded from the lands of the nature reserve fund and leased to a private company for the construction of a residential and office complex.
As noted, the official was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, with a fine of 500 to 1,000 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens.
