The High Anti-Corruption Court has approved a plea agreement with Oleksandr Maslov, the chief operational officer of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police. He was sentenced to 8 years of suspended imprisonment, exposed two other defendants in the case, and resigned from the police force.

As indicated, Maslov fully admitted his guilt and cooperated with the investigation. In addition, on the basis of his exposure, the suspicion was reported to the senior investigator of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, Vyacheslav Potalap. He also gave evidence regarding another defendant - presumably the prosecutor of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office, Andriy Hrytsan. The parties agreed on a sentence of 8 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property and a ban on holding certain positions for 3 years. Maslov was released on probation for 3 years.

To approve the plea agreement in criminal proceedings concluded between the SAPO prosecutor and the accused in these criminal proceedings (Maslova – ed.), with the participation of the defense attorney. (Maslova – ed.) To find guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and to impose on the basis of the plea agreement an agreed measure of punishment under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in the form of 8 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold positions in state authorities for a period of 3 years, without confiscation of property. On the basis of Part 2 of Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, to release (Maslova – ed.) from serving the main sentence in the form of 8 years of imprisonment with probation, setting a probationary period of 3 years

Maslov was also assigned the following duties: to periodically appear for registration with the authorized probation authority; to notify the authorized probation authority of any change in place of residence, work, or study; not to travel outside Ukraine without the consent of the authorized probation authority.

Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court also approved a plea agreement entered into by former MP and head of the Odessa District Council of the Odessa region, Vitaliy Barvinenko. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison on probation.
