A doctor and a soldier demanded a bribe from a veteran In Kyiv

The doctor of the CNE Sviato-Mikhaylivska Clinical Hospital of the city of Kyiv and the military serviceman are suspected of aiding and abetting a bribe of $5,000 from a combat veteran for the establishment of a disability group.

The suspects, together with the still unidentified officials of the Central MSEC No. 1 of Kyiv, were involved in the scheme of receiving illegal benefits for the establishment of a combat veteran of the third group of disabilities for a period of two years.

The suspects told the veteran that he had to pay $5,000 while they prepared medical documents for the second group. In case of refusal to pay the amount, the disability group already assigned to him will be canceled

The serviceman who participated in the illegal scheme voluntarily left the military unit in 2023 and is illegally outside its borders. The circumstances of his commission of the crime provided for in Part 5 of Art. 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, will be investigated during the pre-trial investigation.

Law enforcement officers detained the suspects after receiving illegal benefits.

During the search of the doctor's place of residence, money in the amount of 46 thousand hryvnias, almost 87 thousand dollars and almost 4.5 thousand euros, as well as draft records, seals of medical institutions of the city of Kyiv, and facsimiles were seized.
