Military hospital doctor was fined for a bribe in Lviv
The Lychakiv District Court of Lviv sentenced the narcologist of the psychiatric clinic of the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Western Region (MMCC) who demanded a bribe from a military man for declaring him unfit for service and removing him from military registration.
As indicated in the verdict, which was published in the court register in October 2024, the narcologist Vasyl Pavlov, working in the psychiatric clinic of the Lviv military hospital, demanded 5,000 dollars from a serviceman for influencing the leadership of the MMC, to which he was a member.
For a bribe, the VLK had to declare a soldier unfit for service with exclusion from military registration. Vasyl Pavlov declared that if the man does not give him a bribe, then he will be recognized as limited fit for service.
After handing over $5,000 at the end of January 2024, the narcologist was detained by law enforcement officers. At the court hearing, the accused admitted his guilt.
The case was considered by judge Hryhoriy Zhovnir, who examined all the materials and sentenced Vasyl Pavlov to a fine of UAH 34,000, and he must also pay UAH 16,600 in procedural costs. The verdict can still be appealed.
