Law enforcement officers reported suspicion of corruption to the assistant chief of the Podilsky District Territorial Procurement Center in Kyiv.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Central region.

According to law enforcement officers, the legal assistant demanded and received a bribe from the lawyer for not bringing his client to administrative responsibility for violating the rules of military registration, as well as for further placing him on military registration.

In this way, the lawyer's client could avoid mobilization, the prosecutor's office notes.

The agency says the amount of the bribe is UAH 25,000 and $4,000 (in total, about UAH 190,460). Currently, the person involved has been detained, a preventive measure has been chosen for him - detention with a bail of almost UAH 212,000.

The official faces a maximum of 10 years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for three years.
