Ukraine extradites former MP Ruslan Demchak from Germany

A former member of the Verkhovna Rada of the 8th convocation was extradited from Germany to Ukraine, who is accused of aiding and abetting manipulation of the stock market and legalization of almost 20 million hryvnias.
Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced the extradition.
The name of the MP is not officially mentioned, however, according to media reports, it is Ruslan Demchak, a native of Vinnytsia Oblast.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the indictment against the former MP is already under consideration in court. The investigation believes that in 2017, 71 cyclical transactions with domestic government bonds were carried out through brokerage companies with his participation.
According to law enforcement, these operations had a predetermined outcome and only created the appearance of legitimate investment income. In this way, according to the investigation, 19.8 million UAH obtained through criminal means was legalized.
Ruslan Demchak is a figure in the EBK database.
As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported Ruslan Demchak in absentia about suspicion, since his whereabouts were unknown. According to the investigation, during his tenure as a people's deputy, he illegally received compensation for housing in the capital, while using a house registered to his father in the village of Kryukivshchyna near Kyiv.
Demchak is charged with offenses under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
