HACC denied expert examination in MP Marchenko’s influence case

The High Anti-Corruption Court did not order an expert examination in the criminal proceedings on the charges of Lyudmila Marchenko, a member of parliament from the "Servant of the People" faction, and her assistant Anastasia Kolesnyk, of abuse of influence for receiving $11,300 in illegal benefits.
As indicated, the defense attorney for the accused Marchenko and Kolesnyk asked the court to order an examination.
To refuse to grant the motion of the defense counsel for the accused (Marchenko and Kolesnyk) to conduct an examination. The decision shall enter into force from the moment of its announcement and shall not be subject to separate appeal.
Lyudmila Marchenko is a figurehead of the EBK base.
As we previously reported, the HACC has extended the term of office of Lyudmila Marchenko, a member of parliament from the "Servant of the People" faction, until December 14. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses her of abuse of influence for receiving $11,300 in illegal benefits.
