HACC Upholds Asset Seizure for Komarnytskyi

The High Anti-Corruption Court has left under arrest $25,000, three fragments of yellow metal, and two $1 coins seized from the home of businessman Denys Komarnytskyi as part of a land scheme case in Kyiv.
As indicated, on April 4, the anti-corruption court seized an iPhone 11 Pro mobile phone, $25,000 in cash, three fragments of yellow metal (gold bars), and two $1 coins. They were seized during a search of the home of Komarnytsky and his wife. Later, the lawyer filed a motion to lift the arrest of all property except the phone.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO conducted searches at the home of Denys Komarnytsky, the former co-chair of the Leonid Chernovetskyi Bloc faction in the Kyiv City Council.
After that, NABU and SAPO handed over suspicions to 10 people, including Komarnytsky, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Olenych, Head of the Kyiv City Council Standing Committee on Architecture, Urban Planning and Land Relations Mykhailo Terentyev, and member of this committee Olena Marchenko. According to the investigation, the government officials were engaged in illegal privatization of land for construction. In addition, they tried to take full control of the procedure for making decisions on granting land rights.
