HACC arrests Denys Komarnytskyi in absentia image

The High Anti-Corruption Court took businessman Denys Komarnytsky into custody in absentia in the case of his organization of land acquisition in Kyiv.

This decision was made by the Supreme Court of Ukraine, which is confirmed by interlocutors in anti-corruption bodies of journalists of the publication "Word and Deed".

The decision on the arrest in absentia itself is classified. According to the interlocutors, Komarnytsky was arrested in absentia. The court decision also stated that after the suspect is detained, he must be brought to court within 48 hours for the application of the chosen preventive measure in the form of detention or its change to a milder preventive measure.

At the same time, according to the Judicial Authority, Komarnytsky's lawyer has already filed an appeal against the arrest in absentia. The hearing is scheduled for 12:45 on May 28.

On February 6, 2025, it became known that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau was conducting investigative actions against businessman Denys Komarnytskyi.

Later, the NABU press service reported that the Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office "are conducting a large-scale operation "Clean City" to expose a criminal organization involved in land corruption in the Kyiv City Council."

As part of this case, the Supreme Court of Ukraine remanded Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Olenych in custody for two months and set him on bail of UAH 15 million. The Head of the Land Commission Mykhailo Terentyev was also given a preventive measure - two months of detention with the possibility of bail of almost UAH 20 million.

Later, the Supreme Court of Ukraine seized the assets of former Kyiv City Council member Denys Komarnytskyi, his wife Iryna, and his driver Yuriy Dashkov in a case involving land grabbing in the capital.
