Supreme Court upheld sentences for ex-Pivdendiproshaht officials

The Supreme Court has upheld the sentence that sentenced former acting director of the state-owned enterprise "Pivdendiproshakht" Yuriy Sevastyanov and his former deputy Oleksandr Tatarkin to prison terms. They were sentenced to more than 7 years in prison. This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
As is known, the HACC found Sevastyanov and Tatarkin guilty of attempting to seize state-owned enterprise funds. The court sentenced the former director of Pivdendiproshakht to 7.5 years in prison with a ban on holding certain positions for 3 years and confiscation of half of his property. Tatarkin was sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison with the same additional punishment.
The verdict was left unchanged by the Appeals Chamber of the HACC. The defense filed an appeal against these decisions.
On November 20, 2025, the Cassation Criminal Court of the Supreme Court ruled to leave unchanged the verdict of the HACC dated February 15, 2024 and the resolution of the AC HACC dated November 5, 2024, by which the former director of the State Enterprise "Pivdendiproshakht" Yu. Sevastyanov and his deputy O. Tatarkin were found guilty of attempted embezzlement of funds in an especially large amount. The Supreme Court agreed with the arguments of the SAPO prosecutor, rejected the cassation appeals of the defense and confirmed the legality of the court decisions. Thus, Yu. Sevastyanov was sentenced to 7.5 years of imprisonment, O. Tatarkin - to 7 years and 3 months of imprisonment
Yuriy Sevastyanov and Oleksandr Tatarkin are suspects in the EBK base.
As a reminder, in September 2021, the HACC of Criminal Procedure assigned the case of the state enterprise "Pivdendiproshakht" to consideration. According to the prosecution, in November 2018, being familiar with the planned reorganization of the state enterprise "Pivdendiproshakht" by merging it with the "National Coal Company", the acting director of the state enterprise Yuriy Sevastyanov, in collusion with his deputy Oleksandr Tatarkin, created an artificial debt of the state enterprise in the amount of UAH 7 million to a private company previously headed by the deputy director of the state enterprise (before being appointed to the position of deputy). This is LLC "Limited Edition".
