The Supreme Court upheld the verdict sentencing the former general director of the state specialized enterprise "Radon Association" Ihor Buksanchuk to 5 years in prison for bribing the former head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management Kateryna Pavlova.

As is known, the HACC found guilty and sentenced the former director of the state-owned Radon Association, Buksanchuk, to 5 years in prison with confiscation of property. This decision was confirmed by the Appeals Chamber of the HACC. However, the Supreme Court returned the case for a second appeal. However, the AC of the HACC did not see any grounds for changing the sentence.

On November 11, 2025, the Cassation Criminal Court within the Supreme Court decided to leave unchanged the verdict of the HACC dated June 1, 2022 and the resolution AC of the HACC dated March 17, 2025, by which the former CEO of the Radon Association Igor Buksanchuk was found guilty of providing UAH 210,000 of illegal benefit to the acting head of the State Agency for the Protection of the Environment for approving the appointment of quarterly and annual bonuses to him in the amount of over UAH 430,000. The Supreme Court agreed with the arguments of the SAPO prosecutor, rejected the cassation appeals of the defense and confirmed the legality of the court decisions.
