Bail was posted for former Odessa mayor Gennady Trukhanov in the case of participation in a criminal organization and illegal seizure of land belonging to a territorial community.

This was reported by Suspilne with reference to the lawyer of the former mayor of Odessa, Oleksandr Lysak.

As Lysak reported, Trukhanov had to pay a total of 42 million hryvnias in bail. Of this, 30 million was paid earlier, but after the bail was increased, the former mayor of Odessa had to pay an additional 12 million hryvnias.

The lawyer also clarified that a total of 25 people posted bail.

According to the investigation, in 2016–2019, members of a criminal organization developed a scheme to illegally transfer land plots of the Odessa community for development. The land was leased without a competition to developers agreed upon in advance.

Instead, developers paid money or transferred real estate — apartments or non-residential premises — to representatives of the organization. They, in turn, through controlled persons in the Odessa City Council, ensured the adoption of decisions on the transfer of land.

According to the expert report, the community's losses amount to 689 million hryvnias. The investigation also revealed facts of money laundering obtained from other crimes.

Gennady Trukhanov was served with suspicion in this case back in 2021. In the same year, the HACC chose a preventive measure for him in the form of a bail of 30 million hryvnias. He paid the bail. Gennady Trukhanov was the mayor of Odessa from 2014 to 2025. In October 2025, he was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship, after which he automatically lost his position. 22 of his advisers were dismissed along with him.
