Rivne regional council deputy appeals 9-year prison sentence

The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court will consider appeals against the verdict sentencing Deputy Chairman of the Rivne Regional Council Serhiy Svystaliuk to 9 years in prison for receiving unlawful benefits and abuse of influence.
As is known, the anti-corruption court found Svystaluk guilty. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison. He was also banned from holding positions related to the performance of the functions of a local government representative for 3 years, both on a permanent and temporary basis or under special authority, with the confiscation of 500 thousand hryvnias.
In addition, the accused is obliged to: appear before the court upon each request; report any change in place of residence or work; hand over foreign passports for safekeeping and not leave the territory of Ukraine without the court's permission.
