Appeals court orders arrest of ex-MP Ivaniushchenko in absentia

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court took former People's Deputy from the Party of Regions Yuriy Ivanyushchenko into custody in absentia in the case of the seizure of 18 hectares of state land under the Stolichny market for over UAH 160 million.
As is known, on March 19, the investigating judge of the Supreme Judicial Council refused to arrest Ivanyushchenko in absentia. The prosecutor of the Administrative Court of Ukraine appealed this decision.
On June 16, 2026, the panel of judges of the AC HACC decided to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the former People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Party of Regions, who is suspected of organizing the legalization of property obtained by criminal means, namely 9 land plots with a total value of over 160 million UAH. After the suspect is detained and delivered to the place of pre-trial investigation, the investigating judge will decide on the application of this or a milder preventive measure

Previously, the Investigating Judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) granted a motion to conduct a special pre-trial investigation into former People's Deputy Yuriy Ivanyushchenko in the case of the seizure of 18 hectares of state land under the Stolichny market for over UAH 160 million.
