SAPO Sends Shchyhol Case to Court image

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has sent an indictment to the court against the former head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection, Yuriy Shchyhol, his former deputy Viktory Zhora, and others for embezzlement of state funds in the amount of over UAH 62 million.

The press service of the SAPO reports this, but does not mention the names of the defendants.

According to media reports, this concerns Shchyhol, Zhora, entrepreneur Roman Koval, former head of the state enterprise "Ukrainian Special Systems" Artur Vitrenko, and deputy head of the center for the design and construction of information and communication systems of the state enterprise USS Yuriy Maistruk.

The SAPO prosecutor, based on the materials of the NABU pre-trial investigation, sent an indictment to the court against five members of an organized group, including the former Head of the State Special Communications Service, his deputy, the head of a state-owned enterprise under the jurisdiction of the State Special Communications Service, as well as other officials and the organizer, who are involved in the embezzlement of state funds in the amount of over UAH 62 million.

Yuriy Shchyhol and Viktor Zhora are suspects in the EBK base.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions to the head of the State Service for Special Communications Yuriy Shchyhol, his deputy and others of embezzlement of state funds in the amount of over 62 million UAH. According to the investigation, in 2020, the owner of a group of companies, in collusion with the management of the State Service for Special Communications, developed a scheme to embezzle budget funds allocated for the purchase of equipment and software.
